Strategic Partnerships across Diagnostics
Recently the Welsh Government have published its Diagnostic Strategy. The strategy states that Wales should have more trusted partnerships with academia, industry, Welsh, and UK Government to drive investment, innovation and improved outcomes in Wales; creating an environment for collaborative working across organisational boundaries. This is consistent with recommendations from the Nurse review of the RD&I landscape which says Government should increase efforts to link the different elements of UK RDI landscape together with commercial, industrial and societal components that benefit research and innovation. These aspirations are consistent with the UKG Life Sciences Vision in improving health and increasing productivity in the UK. The purpose of the panel discussion is to explore how we can form trusted partnerships more readily and work together on common objectives in Wales.

Virtual Wards
We have critical resource restrictions in the NHS and a health crisis. How can we do better? One potential way which is now starting to show great promise are Virtual Wards. Virtual wards, allow patients to be cared for in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes with the help and support of their friends and family and communities. This approach helps expedite their recovery and improve confidence to continue living at home, while also freeing up hospital beds. It is a safe and effective alternative for patients who are able to receive support at home.
